The B& B Conca d'Oro, a villa with a 3000-square-meter park, welcomes you in San Giorgio, a small, ancient village in the hills (altitude: 375 meters) of the Valpolicella, famous for the Longobard-Romanesque parish church and its enchanting cloister and for the production of vintage wines: the Amarone, the Recioto and the Valpolicella. From the large terrace of the B&B, where breakfast is served during the summer, one can enjoy a magnificent view of Lake Garda and the plain. The B& B is surrounded by gardens and by a small park, at the disposal of our guests for a quiet and relaxing stay. Breakfast consists of tea, coffee, milk, yogurt, fruit juices, bread, butter, marmalade, cake, cold cuts and cheese. Cars can be parked in the inner courtyard.

Our B& B consists of a large room (with one double bed or two twin-size beds) furnished with period furniture and with an en-suite bathroom with shower. This room has a balcony overlooking the park and Lake Garda. Another comfortable room (with one double bed or two twin-size beds) overlooking the garden is furnished with early twentieth-century furniture and has an adjacent bathroom with shower reserved for your exclusive use. A third room, smaller, with a single bed and shared use of the same bathroom, can be added to the second room (for a family).

           

To reach San Giorgio the recommended exit of the Brennero highway (A-22) is Affi (13 km from San Giorgio). When coming from Milan the recommended exit is Verona Nord (15 km) and when coming from Verona the best way is to follow the state road for Parona and San Pietro Incariano Once in Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella (chief town of the Municipality), follow directions for San Giorgio. The B&B is exactly 2 km from the church of Sant'Ambrogio. When you arrive at the road sign for "San Giorgio di Valpolicella" at the entrance of town, continue for 60 meters (on the left). San Giorgio (300 residents), ancient capital of the Valpolicella, is a small, enchanting village in the hills, surrounded by fields where, in addition to vineyards, olive and cherry trees predominate. In the surrounding woods there are numerous marble quarries, which are now almost all no longer in use (the famous "Verona red marble"). 100 meters from the B&B you will find a restaurant serving fresh fish specialties and a few hundred meters away, at the center of the small village, two excellent trattorie serving specialties of Verona; there are another eight good restaurants in a 2-to-3 km radius. In San Giorgio and in the neighboring towns of the Valpolicella you will be able to visit numerous wineries and purchase the Amarone, Recioto and Valpolicella wines. Lake Garda can be reached in 15-20 minutes, as can the Zoo and Safari Park. Gardaland can be reached in 20 minutes and the marvelous town of Sirmione in 40 (but we recommend taking the boat from Lazise). You will also need 20 minutes to reach the wonderful city of Verona (Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza dei Signori, the Duomo, the churches of Santa Anastasia, San Fermo and San Zeno, the opera season in the Arena and the jazz festival and Shakespearean festival at the Roman theater in the summertime, the house and the tomb of Juliet, the agricultural fair in March, the Vinitaly wine exhibition in April, the marble exhibition in October and the equestrian fair in November) In 20 minutes you can reach the heart of the Lessinia region (the waterfalls of Molina, the bridge of Veja, the mountain-bike trails), to which San Giorgio belongs. Venice, Milan, Ferrara, Modena and the Dolomites can be reached in an hour and a half, Padua in an hour, Mantua in 40 minutes.
